The ScottishPower Energy People Trust

What the Trust will & won’t Support

The ScottishPower Energy People Trust funds registered charities that help people whose lives are affected by fuel poverty. We accept applications for funding from charities registered with the Charity Commission or Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) for projects aimed at alleviating fuel poverty within the UK.  Applications are particularly welcome from charities who work with children, young people and families.

Since our formation in November 2005 we have provided funding to projects run by grass roots organisations that help people who are on low incomes, live in poor housing or suffer ill-health.

We are funded by ScottishPower and voluntary donations from independent supporters.

Decisions to award funding are made independently of ScottishPower by an experienced Board of Trustees who have a special interest in fuel poverty. They include representatives from Energy Action Scotland and National Energy Action.

Funding is not available to individuals or commercial organisations.  We do not provide funding to cover payment of debt such as fines, loans or outstanding balances on catalogue or credit card accounts.

Applications must be made online via the website where further details are available
